A Look Back: Orion Music + More 2012

Sep 27, 2012

There’s no doubt that the inaugural Orion Music + More Festival was an epic success – the weather even let up and brought cooler temps and sunny skies to Bader Field all weekend! From Kirk’s Crypt to Lars’ Hit The Lights Film Tent, the Festival events were packed, the performances were unrivaled and the enthusiasm from fans was unlike any we’ve ever seen.

But, don’t just take our word for it… check out some of the post-festival buzz and relive the best moments of Orion 2012.

Aside from enjoying the epic rock music experience, Festival-goers did their part to give back to the community and the environment all weekend long as well. By refilling water bottles at the free water stations around Bader Field, fans and staff filled enough containers to prevent the use of 26,658 water bottles. But that’s not all — almost 500 fans were rewarded with cool swag for recycling through the Rock & Recycle program at the Fest.

The Festival’s My World Village area also proved to be a great success and a popular stop throughout the day with thousands signing up to support worthy causes like the TJ Martell Foundation, the ONE Campaign’s journey to end poverty and preventable diseases in impoverished countries and MusiCares’ mission to supporting the musical community in times of need.

And in case you haven’t already seen them, you have to check out the two awesome videos created by none other than Metallica themselves to capture the metal-filled ride that was Orion Music + More 2012.
